VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – In another effort to stop the federal government from going ahead with “Lawful Access Legislation,” OpenMedia.ca has launched a bunch of ‘public service announcements’ to bring attention to the issue.
“The plan is to force every phone and Internet provider to surrender our personal information to authorities without a warrant,” says one of the PSAs.
“The worst part of their invasive all-encompassing surveillance scheme is that you’ll have to pay for it out of your own pocket,” it adds.
The videos show satirical real-world situations where privacy is violated. The group is also urging you to sign a “stop spying petition” to send a message to government.
